One of the earliest examples of our client-focused approach came in the form of a request from Shell, one of our clients, in the late nineties. They wanted to develop a GAMS model for scheduling three of their oil refineries, but the current GAMS version at that time did not allow for the necessary nonlinear computations. Working closely with Shell, we identified their needs and developed the required functionality. This feature was then incorporated into the next GAMS release, making it accessible to the wider GAMS community.
Our success with Shell was just the beginning. As we continued to work with clients, we identified new demands for additional functionality. We responded to these demands by developing new products such as GAMS MIRO and GAMS Engine, inspired by collaborations with clients such as the World Bank, the OECD, and Engie. These products were designed to meet specific needs, such as a GUI generator for GAMS models or a convenient solution to run GAMS in the cloud, and have become integral parts of our offering.
Today, we continue to evolve our services to meet the changing needs of our clients. In recent years, we have noticed that clients are reaching out to us with requests that go beyond the scope of technical support.
